Working moms Zabrina Ogunlana and Melissa Livingston have been best friends for what feels like forever. The women met while both were working at Publix Super Market headquarters in Lakeland, Florida; Zabrina as a graphic designer and Melissa as a marketing brand manager.

They were prompted to start Goodie Tins after they saw a void in the market. As a designer Zabrina
simply wasn't satisfied with the cookie-cutter aesthetics of traditional gift baskets. Same brown
wicker basket. Same brightly colored cellophane wrapping.

And as both women were busy moms, neither had the time to hunt and peck for the perfect gifts
for the countless baby showers, weddings, and birthday parties, you name it, they always seemed
to be attending.

Hence, Goodie Tins was born.

"We thought that so much could be achieved with our "goodie tins".... a beautiful originally designed
item ready to gift," explained Melissa.

 

"And...it's just so much more personal," added Zabrina.

The women officially founded Goodie Tins in Florida in 2009 with the ultimate goal of adding
personality, style and a genuine sense of expressing love to those who receive one of their
beautiful and customized tins.

Zabrina received her B.A. in Art and Art History and a B.A. in Communication & Design. Her 15 year
span in the design industry includes working on clients such as Virgin Canada, EMI Music, Sony,
Bank of Montreal, Loblaws, Publix, MetLife, Doral International, Labatt Canada, Suzuki Marine
and many others.

Zabrina somehow juggles running her own design firm, chasing after her three children, 20-year old
Nikeya, 15-year old Jerrell and two-year old cutie patootie, Jalen who is Goodie Tins model,
a very wonderful patient husband, and...managing all creative aspects of Goodie Tins.

In Zabrina's spare time she loves discovering new trends in design, a good workout, escaping with
a fabulous book, or spend some much needed time with her oh so fab-u-luss husband.

Pint-size and Caribbean born Melissa received her MBA from Hofstra University in
Long Island, New York. This marketing powerhouse has over 15 years of brand marketing
experience for some of America's favorite brands including Campbell's Chicken Noodle
and Tomato Soup, Walt Disney World, and Disney Cruise Line.

Melissa is also mom to three amazing children; six-year old rock star Christian and
three-year old precious twin girls, Maya and Morgan. When Melissa isn't wrangling dinner,
car pool, pigtails, and her full-time marketing gig at Disney, she also manages all marketing
and communications functions of Goodie Tins.

In those rare moments Melissa has extra time, she loves reading up on the latest technology,
tweeting at@TwinFabulous about life as a mom to adorable twins and spending quality time
with the family including her sweet hubby.
